Graduate and Industrial Placement Programmes 2013

Capacitas is recruiting graduates and placement students for its 2013 programmes. We are a young, dynamic company where project engagements are varied and challenging. As a small company we provide our placement students and graduates with challenging and stimulating projects to rapidly develop their skillsets.

Sameena Hassam

Sameena Hassam (Computer Science, City University), Senior Consultant,  was Capacitas’s first industry placement in 2005, and subsequently joined the company as a graduate. She commented, “Doing a placement with Capacitas is a brilliant opportunity; in a difficult job market you are giving yourself a head start with a year’s experience and potential employment on graduation. We put a lot of effort into ensuring our placement students leave with valuable skills and we offer client facing work and regular reviews. Since joining Capacitas as a graduate I've been given ample opportunity to grow and develop my skills, with the backing and encouragement of the rest of the team. Capacitas is enjoying significant growth in the marketplace which means that now is a great time to join!”

Joseph Osborne, a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate from Lancaster University who is presently with Capacitas on a one-year industry placement, described his experience thus far, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement so far, the work is always changing and challenging, pushing you to learn more. The company has a fantastic atmosphere and develops you as an individual, encouraging attendance of accredited training courses.  The breadth of work that I have covered is fascinating; I feel that I have developed a much wider and richer set of skills that can be applied in any field.”

Thomas Barns

Thomas Barns, Senior Consultant with Capacitas, also initially joined as a placement student from City University and has since been involved with events arranged by the School of Informatics Professional Liason Unit. He said: “In between working on client projects I'm currently leading the development of tools to provide data analysis capabilities to support our managed services. This particular project would be a good opportunity for candidates with strong development skills to put those skills and their understanding of software development methodologies into practice.”
