Capacitas believes that businesses requiring performance and capacity expertise in the UK would be better served by using contract resources on a project basis, rather than fixed-length contracts in multiples of 6 months. The majority of customer requirements are to cover project work rather than business-as-usual activities; although once a contractor is recruited they often become one of the standard team resources. We do not believe that this is a cost-effective use of contract staff, nor is it advantageous for top calibre contract consultants, as they face many career-affecting issues with long-term contracts. As such we have launched a Flexible Analyst service. This is aimed at encouraging customers to refine their usage of contract performance and capacity consultants, either focussing them on specific projects drawn down against a retainer style contract, or tasking them to deliver specific deliverables bundled together into a single service offering.
